What's to come in (early) 2014...

Before I begin, I would  like to say a big thank you to everyone who has picked up the 'pay-what-you-want' dungeon tiles (doubly so if you decided that the booklet warranted a couple of pounds/dollars/etc. of your hard earned cash).

I have to say that I really didn't expect much interest in the booklet (since there are a multitude of such products already available), but I guess I couldn't have been more wrong.

MORE DUNGEON TILES

Anyway, if you've been following me over on G+ you'll have probably noticed that I've been drawing a few 'detail' tiles for the new 'Basic Dungeon' range that look something like this:

I currently have a dozen of these finished, and the plan is to compile these into a little booklet over the weekend, and release it (as a free/PWYW expansion booklet) soon after.

AGE OF SHADOW

In addition to the dungeon tiles mentioned above, I've also been working on a new map-pack for the Age of Shadow (i.e. something similar to the East Eyrie booklet) - but this time I'm focussing on the layout of an Elven watchtower - which should have around 7 stories and a couple of (small) dungeon levels.

(a WIP pic of the ground level)

No doubt the map-pack will also come with a few paragraphs of Age of Shadow specific text - though for the most part, it'll be another fairly system neutral product.

DUNGEON MONTHLY

I'm still not 100% sure if I'm going to continue the 'Dungeon-Monthly' project throughout 2014 (i.e. where I draw a small, geomorph-like, dungeon segment each month) ...so let me know if this is something that you'd like to see me continue.

Last years project yielded 12 maps (as you'd expect) - which could be pieced together to look something like this:

So, if I were to continue with the project, January's map would pick up with the stairway down to the next level.

PAINTING & MODELLING

And finally, while it's not really 'CSP' related, I think it's worth mentioning that I'm also hoping to get a lot more painting done this year (and possibly get some gaming done on the wargaming front) ...beginning with these guys (for Bolt Action)...

...though I have a ton of other unpainted stuff lying around (so much that it really is quite shameful), so I'm going to make a conscious effort to paint more miniatures, and hopefully do more with them!

And that's about it for the immediate future. There are, of course, several other ideas floating around (such as more zombie tiles, a possible Age of Shadow themed dungeon crawler and/or skirmish game, more wilderness maps, an adventure locale or two, and so on), but that really would be getting ahead of myself :)

  2. Very nice tiles. The bolt action additions look good as well especially when they are all painted up.

    1. Do you mean printing them at 1" per square?

If so, please note that they don't look great when you blow them up to 'miniatures scale' (so I wouldn't recommend wasting nice paper on them, or printing them in anything other than 'draft' quality) - but there is a little tutorial here that shows how to do it:

      I hope that helps :)
